Western Bean Cutworm Trapping Network on PestWatch
The PestWatch pest monitoring system displays western bean cutworm (WBCW) pheromone trap catch data for 2012 and prior seasons. Data are collected by WDATCP, UW-Extension, UW-Entomology (Cullen lab) and grower and agricultural professional volunteers. Pheromone traps are deployed by July 1 each year to monitor the WBCW moth flight and initiate field scouting for larvae in field and sweet corn. To view Wisconsin and regional pheromone trap catch, click on the Interactive Maps tab at the top of the PestWatch home page and follow instructions to access the WBCW PestWatch map display. Note: WBCW pheromone trap data are collected at field and sweet corn sites and applicable to both crops.
