Both groups saw more parents than our usual presentations. It was awesome to see the proud look parents faces as their children answered questions and fearlessly battled hissing cockroaches. I think the parents most likely learned more than their kids!

Students and their parents visited our booth to handle and observe insects.  They could also participate in a variety of science experiments with the BOA, and cheer as a diet coke fountain shot high towards the ceiling of the gymnasium every few minutes.

Insect Ambassadors provided a Tree of Life exploration station for Darwin Day 2012 at the Wisconsin Institutes of Discovery.  Families enjoyed the insect display cases and opportunities to hold live Manduca caterpillars, Madagascar hissing cockroaches and a walking stick.  Kids collected the arthropod stamp at our station in their hunt to find various branches on the tree of life and collect a prize.
