Evan Wilson

Evan WilsonI am interested in how predator/prey dynamics and interspecific competition, as well as other abiotic and biotic factors, affect species’ population dynamics and spatial ecology. My PhD research will focus on the mechanisms that regulate cyclic population dynamics in mammalian communities of the northern forests. Through experimental manipulation, we hope to restore and evaluate the impact of these mechanisms, which have been altered by the functional extirpation of an important prey species, the snowshoe hare (Lepus americanus), from the tension zone of central Wisconsin.
